PECRON EP3800-48V: The Next Generation Replacement for the EP3000-48V Expansion Battery
Share
The PECRON EP3800-48V is the latest upgrade in PECRON’s expansion battery lineup, designed to replace the widely used EP3000-48V. Built for users who need more runtime, higher energy storage, and seamless system compatibility, the EP3800 delivers a meaningful performance boost while maintaining full integration across the PECRON ecosystem.
For users already invested in PECRON power stations, this upgrade offers a straightforward way to increase the total system capacity without changing their existing setup.
What Is the PECRON EP3800-48V
The EP3800-48V expansion battery is a high-capacity LiFePO₄ battery module designed to extend the runtime of compatible PECRON power stations. It functions purely as an expansion unit, increasing total system storage when connected to a host device.

Key Differences Between EP3800 and EP3000
Increased Capacity
The main upgrade is energy storage
EP3800-48V provides 3840Wh
EP3000-48V provides 3072Wh
This represents approximately a 25 percent increase in capacity, delivering longer runtimes across all connected devices.
Simplified Expansion Design
The EP3000 included additional built in functions such as independent DC output ports and integrated solar input capability
The EP3800-48V removes these functions and is designed purely as a dedicated expansion battery. This creates a cleaner, more streamlined system when multiple batteries are connected together.
Same 48V System Voltage
Both models operate on a 48V system architecture with a 51.2V nominal rating and use high-quality LiFePO₄ chemistry. This ensures long cycle life, stable performance, and full compatibility between generations.
Solar Input and System Differences
Replacing an EP3000-48V with an EP3800-48V is essentially plug-and-play. However, there is an important difference in how charging works.
EP3000-48V
The EP3000 included an internal solar input system, allowing panels to be connected directly to the expansion battery.
EP3800-48V
The EP3800 does not include any built-in solar input or charging ports. It operates purely as a capacity expansion pack.
All solar charging must now be connected directly to the main host power station, which manages all charging inputs and system control.
Compatibility with PECRON Power Stations
The EP3800-48V is fully compatible with a wide range of PECRON systems, including:
PECRON F3000LFP
PECRON E3600LFP
PECRON E1000LFP
PECRON E1500LFP
PECRON E2400LFP
Existing EP3000-48V expansion batteries
This broad compatibility allows users to scale their systems from smaller portable setups through to full home backup configurations.

Mixing EP3800 and EP3000 Batteries
Both models can be safely used together as they share the same voltage platform, chemistry, and communication structure.
When mixing units, it is recommended to alternate EP3800 and EP3000 batteries within the chain. This helps maintain balanced performance and stable discharge across the full system.
Dial Settings for System Recognition
Each EP3800 includes a rotary dial switch used for system identification.
When connecting multiple expansion batteries:
Assign each unit a unique address such as 0, 1, 2 and so on
Ensure the host system recognises each battery correctly
Proper setup ensures accurate capacity readings and stable system operation.
Why the EP3800-48V Is a Strong Upgrade
The PECRON EP3800-48V is a refined replacement for the EP3000-48V that improves capacity, simplifies design, and maintains full backward compatibility.
It provides a straightforward upgrade path for users who want more energy storage while keeping their existing PECRON system intact and expandable for the future.
